SELF ESTEEM OF GIRLS IN AN ORPHANAGE HOME: A COMMUNITY BASED CROSS SECTIONAL STUDY

Background:Mental health of orphan children is important since they are exposed to additional stressors due lack proper care, separation from family, death parents etc. All these make them more vulnerable psychological disorders like low esteem. Aim this study was assess the self-esteem girls staying in an orphanage home and find out relation age. Materials Methods: The conducted Aurangabad city after taking permission concerned authorities. Cross sectional Study design used. 240 age group 9 15 were selected interviewed. For assessing Rosenbergs scale Questions on socio demographic data also included. Data analysed using both descriptive (percentage, mean) inferential statistical methods. Results: Among total girls, 54 found have self-esteem. Mean score observed be 19. 12.75. One way ANOVA test used analyse relationship between Self-esteem it significant (p value 0.025) years spent institution 0.002). Conclusion: revealed that 75% good Statistical there with institution,
